ALUMNI BOARDS

The Lamar High School Alumni Association, Inc. received its Certificate of Incorporation from the State of Texas effective July 9, 1998 and received its IRS approval as an authorized 501 (c)(3) organization. LHSAAI has been able to provide achievements/gifts to Lamar from several sources of income to include:  Alumni Membership Dues, Donations, and proceeds from various Events and Fundraisers.

All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

The Lamar Alumni Board generally meets the third Wednesday of each school year month (August through May).  During the summer months (June, July & August), the Alumni Board has and may also meet at a date (or dates to be) determined to be convenient with the majority of the Board Members. 

The meetings are usually at 6:00pm and in the Alumni Board Room across the hall from the school’s main administrative office and the Parent/Alumni school Office on the second floor of Lamar school.  Some meetings are held at other locations.

Should you have an item that you would like to place before the Lamar Alumni Board then please submit your item, in writing, by Wednesday NOON, ONE WEEK before the Board Meeting to the Alumni Executive Director.  We would greatly appreciate your submitting your item in ELECTRONIC format (i.e., eMail, diskette or CD/DVD) so that your information can be transmitted by eMail to all of the current Board Members in our pre-meeting electronic distribution packet.

Current dues paid Alumni desiring to attend a Board Meeting are respectfully requested to request, in writing (eMail will do to LamarHSAlumni@hotmail.com), a written invitation from the Alumni Executive Director Fran Callahan, so that you can find out the correct location of the meeting and can make sure that a particular meeting is in fact an “open” meeting.  We work at keeping our Board meetings short and to the point and have established written guidelines for all Guests that attend our Board Meetings.


A portion of the restated Bylaws adopted **May 22, 2002 and also revised ***June 21, 2006.
***Section 3.04 Number and Qualifications. There shall be no fewer than twelve (12) Directors and no more than fifteen (15) Directors selected annually by the Board of Directors as provided in Section 3.02.
**Section 3.05  Term of Office:  Each Director shall hold office for three (3) years or until his successor shall have been qualified and elected.
**Section 3.06  Annual Meeting.  The annual meeting of the Board shall be held in May of each year.
(New Board Members are elected in May and installed in June of each year).

* In the beginning, the Alumni Association was started by Parents* as well as Lamar Alumni and will be so noted with one asterisk on the website subpage.
r = Retired Board Member, The Board Member may have retired during a current and active term and could have been replaced by another person therefore changing the overall number of Board Members in a given term.
PBM = Past Board Member

School or Maiden names for the ladies are in ( ).  Men that have a name in [ ] indicates a “nickname”.

The superscript numbers following a member’s name i.e., 5, 6 or 7 (etc.) indicate a member’s current term expiration date, i.e., 2005, 2006 and 2007 (etc.).
