Your Alumni Association provides many other services and projects each year in addition to the actual dollars tracked above. Some of those services and associated costs are as follows:

  • Hiring Lamar students to look up alumni, entering that information in our database and presenting that info to classes to aid them in their Class Reunions.
  • The efforts and costs of publishing and mailing the alumni newsletters (on occasion specific newsletters are sent to specific non dues paying alumni for the purpose of increasing membership) and other pieces of information.
  • Arranging for tours of the school for class reunions.
  • Working with the PTO to honor Outstanding Alumni each year.
  • Working with a publisher to collect data for the publication of a Directory of all Alumni. (HISD does not keep or provide data on all school graduates – we have to do the research for contact names and information.)

And, there are numerous other efforts and projects, some that cost money, many that cost in Alumni time that is donated.
