Can you believe that in 2009 members of the second Lamar graduating class, in 1939, (70 years ago) will be approximately eighty six years young in 2009! (Many of those classmates graduated at the age of 16). And just think, they still get together to celebrate their graduation and most of all, their friendships. There were several from that class that attended the school’s 70th Anniversary on Nov 3rd 2007.

Your Alumni Association is very proud to assist with your reunion project by posting your reunion dates, contacts, website information, providing addressing information and other assistance (see below).

Reunion Assistance provided by the Alumni office – AT NO CHARGE!:

  1. Post your contact and date information on our website and that of the Lamar school (now linked to ours).
  2. Answer questions about your reunion when calls come in to the school and the alumni office. People call us when they don't know who else to call.
  3. Provide a handout we developed about how to plan a reunion. It has a lot of useful information put together by Board Member John Adkins.
  4. Provide a copy of a diskette/CD with the updated information we have on your class - names, addresses, phone #’s, eMails etc. We can also provide a hard copy! (Finding correct classmate information is a continuing project that we have undertaken)
  5. We will publish your reunion information beforehand in the newsletter, and afterwards, we will publish a write-up and photos of the reunion.
  6. We can provide tours of the school during the weekend of your reunion. Most Alumni and their spouses (and kids) really enjoy this.
  7. We will keep your updated (mail) lists after the reunion and continue to update them for the class.
  8. We can provide suggestions (with details) about ongoing projects at the school, when your class or class members are interested in making donations to the Alumni for the school.
  9. We have information on reunion planners and photographers should you need assistance.
  10. To find places to MEET and EAT go to http://www.b4-u-eat.com/ then click on the "Help with Parties" button in the Navigation bar on the left. Fill out their form and they will try to provide you with solutions to your wishes - FREE - NO CHARGE. Small or LARGE groups, a full scale sit-down dinner or just a light "get-together". You can ALSO find MAPS to each of the locations on their website with menus in many cases. Also, look at their Navigation button for Private Rooms. And as always look under REUNIONS on our site to see where other classes have held their reunions (when you find one of interest, call THAT class to find out how their function went at that location).

The Alumni office, Volunteer Corps and members of the Alumni Board are all delighted to assist you and your classmates in having your best reunion ever.

Please keep us updated with your changes of information: address, phone, eMail etc. that way, we can serve YOU better.
