Lamar High School will celebrate its 70th Birthday on Saturday, November 3, 2007!
You Won't Want to Miss This!!!
The party will begin on the campus front lawn at 10 a.m. All alumni, teachers, administrators, and former parents are invited to attend. There will be food, drink, entertainment, a children's playground, and a time to visit with each other, tour the school, and enjoy the spectacle!
The day will begin with a pep rally on the front lawn for the Lamar Redskins who will be off to play the Bellaire Cardinals at 2 p.m. for Homecoming game at Delmar Stadium. Next, classes will gather in the school to reunite with classmates, revisit memories from of the past, and share stories and history with some of the students and parents of today. Tours of the school will be available for those who have not seen the improvements. Lunch will be provided by Prince's Hamburgers (established at almost the same year as Lamar). The high point of the day will then begin in the auditorium at 1 p.m. Performances will feature singing and dancing by students from today and from the past. Most exciting of all - the Choralettes will be singing once more! You have the chance to be with them in the same auditorium which was graced by their performances for 30 years! You won't believe the show that they have put together!
Please plan on attending! Tell you friends! Invite your classmates! Contact your teachers! We want all of you to come and celebrate what Lamar has contributed to the Houston and the country during its 70 years of encouraging, teaching, inspiring, and chastising students! Come for the fun, the memories, and just to see what has been going on since the last time everyone was here!!
